User Guide

Everything you need to know about using Deebop, from your first post to advanced creator tools.

Getting Started

Set up your account and find your way around.

Create Your Account

Sign up with your email and password, or use Google sign-in. Choose a username, add a display name, and you're ready to go. You can customise everything else later.

Set Up Your Profile

Upload an avatar and cover image, write a bio, and add a profile link. This is what people see when they visit your page, so make it count.

Follow Creators You Like

Browse the Explore page or search for creators by name or hashtag. Follow them and their posts will appear in your Following feed. They will not be mixed with Discovery content.

Navigate Your Feed

Your home feed has three modes: Following (posts from people you follow), Discovery (public posts from across Deebop), and Favourites (posts from your starred creators). Switch between them with the tabs at the top.

Creating Content

Deebop supports 8 content types. Here is how to use each one.

Post a Shout

Tap the Create button and choose Shout. Type up to 500 characters, optionally add hashtags and a provenance label, then publish. Perfect for quick thoughts and updates.

Share an Image

Select Image from the Create menu and upload your photo. Add a headline, description, and provenance label. Free accounts get compressed uploads; Creator and above upload in original quality up to 50MB.

Upload a Video

Choose Video from the Create menu and pick your file. Deebop auto-transcodes it for smooth streaming on every device. Free accounts can upload up to 1 minute; Pro and Teams get up to 10 minutes.

Share a 360 Panorama

Select 360 Panorama and upload an equirectangular image. Viewers can drag, zoom, and explore the scene. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams tiers. No other social platform supports this natively.

Share Audio

Choose Audio and upload your file. Deebop generates a waveform visualisation automatically. Great for music previews, voice notes, and podcast clips. Recording lengths vary by tier.

Create a Collage

Select Collage and add multiple images or videos. Pick a grid layout from the presets and add individual captions to each item. A single post that tells a richer visual story.

Write an Article

Choose Article to open the markdown editor. Add headings, links, images, and rich formatting. Your readers get a clean, distraction-free reading experience. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Create a Poll

Select Poll and write your question with 2 to 4 options. Set an expiration time and publish. Watch results come in live. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams tiers.

Set Provenance Labels

Every post requires a provenance label: Original, AI-Assisted, AI-Generated, or Composite. This tells your audience exactly how your content was created. Transparency builds trust.

Choose Post Visibility

When creating a post, set its visibility: Public (anyone can see it), Followers Only (only people who follow you), Unlisted (accessible via link but not in feeds), or Private (only you).

Save and Resume Drafts

If you are not ready to publish, save your post as a draft. Access drafts from the Drafts section in your menu. Resume editing on any device and publish when you are ready.

Engaging with Content

Deebop keeps engagement simple. No comments, no toxicity. Just four ways to interact.

Like a Post

Tap the heart icon on any post to show appreciation. The creator sees a notification and the post is saved to your liked history.

Save a Post

Tap the bookmark icon to save a post for later. View all your saved posts from the Saved section in your menu. Filter by content type or browse in grid view.

Share a Post

Tap the share icon to copy a link or share to other platforms. Sharing helps creators reach new audiences outside Deebop.

Repost Content

Tap the repost icon to share someone else's post with your own followers. If the creator requires repost approval, they will review your request first.

Pin Your Best Posts

Pin posts to the top of your profile so visitors see your best work first. Creator tier gets 1 pin; Pro and Teams get 3 pins.

Organising Your Work

Group, sequence, and curate your content so followers can explore your work on their terms.

Create an Album

Go to Albums in your menu and tap Create Album. Upload photos and videos, add a title and description, and optionally invite collaborators as Owner, Co-Owner, or Contributor. Share the album link with anyone.

Create a Series

Go to Series and tap Create Series. Add a title, description, and cover image. Then add existing posts as episodes or create new ones. Followers can follow your Series and get notified of every new part. Perfect for tutorials, photo projects, and ongoing stories.

Create a Collection

Go to Collections and tap Create. Add a title and start curating posts by topic. Your followers can subscribe to individual Collections and browse your work thematically. Available on Creator (5), Pro (20), and Teams (50).

Build Reference Collections

Save external links, images, and posts into reference collections for research and inspiration. Use the browser extension to save items from any website. Share them publicly or keep them private. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Planning and Scheduling

Schedule content ahead of time and keep your publishing rhythm consistent.

Schedule a Drop

Create your post as usual, then tap Schedule instead of Publish. Pick a date and time, and optionally show a teaser countdown. When the time comes, your content goes live automatically and your followers are notified.

Use the Content Calendar

Go to Calendar in your menu to see all your scheduled posts, drops, and events on a visual timeline. Drag items to reschedule. Spot gaps in your publishing rhythm and plan ahead. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Use the Content Library

Go to Library to browse all your uploaded content in one place. Filter by status (published, scheduled, drafted), search by keyword, and tag posts for easy retrieval. Mark items as evergreen, portfolio-worthy, or press-ready. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Events and Community

Bring your audience together and manage your most important relationships.

Create an Event

Go to Events and tap Create Event. Set a date, add a location, upload a cover image, and share the invite link. Track RSVPs as people mark themselves as Attending or Interested. After the event, add a photo gallery for attendees. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Create Audience Groups

Go to Audience in your menu to create custom groups of followers. Give each group a name, emoji, and description. When posting, you can target specific groups to share exclusive content with select followers.

Set Priority Followers

Star your most important followers from the Audience section. Add private notes to each. Priority followers are highlighted in your follower list so you never miss engagement from the people who matter most.

Growing Your Audience

Tools and strategies to reach new people and build your creative brand.

Build a Creator Page

Go to Creator Page in your menu. Drag and drop from 24 block types to build a customisable landing page connected to your posts, albums, and collections. More than a link-in-bio. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Set Up Your Portfolio

Mark your best posts as portfolio items, then visit your Portfolio page. Choose from grid, masonry, or spotlight layouts. Your public portfolio page is shareable with clients and collaborators. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Generate a Media Kit

Go to Media Kit in your menu. Deebop auto-generates a press kit with your stats, bio, links, and featured posts. Customise it, share the link with brands, or export as PDF. Track views and downloads. Available on Pro and Teams.

Boost a Post

Tap Boost on any published post. Set your daily budget, pick a target region, and launch. Your content reaches new audiences beyond your existing followers. Monitor performance from the Boosts section.

Enable Tips

Go to Settings, then Monetization, and connect your Stripe account. Once set up, a Tip button appears on your posts. Followers can tip you directly. Set suggested amounts and view your earnings history. Available on Creator, Pro, and Teams.

Get Discovered on Explore

Use relevant hashtags, set your location, and keep your profile public. The Explore page surfaces trending posts, rising creators, popular albums, and upcoming drops. Posts are ranked by engagement and recency, not by who pays.

Use Hashtags Effectively

Add relevant hashtags to your posts to appear in hashtag searches. Trending hashtags are visible on the Explore page. Use specific niche hashtags to connect with the right audience rather than only broad ones.

Show Up in Near You

Set your city in Settings under Location. Your posts and events will appear in the Near You section for people in the same area. A great way to connect with local creators and communities.

Client Work

Professional tools for photographers and creatives who work with clients.

Set Up Client Galleries

Go to Client Galleries in your menu and create a new gallery. Upload your photos, set a selection limit, and optionally set an expiry date. Send the gallery link to your client. They browse, select their favourites, and you deliver the final edits. All in one place.

Accept Gallery Payments

On Pro and Teams tiers, you can require payment before your client accesses the gallery. Set a price and Deebop handles the Stripe checkout. Your client pays, then views and selects.

Analytics and Insights

Understand what is working and make informed decisions about your content.

View Post Insights

Tap any of your published posts and open Insights. See views, likes, saves, shares, reposts, and engagement rate. Available on Creator (30-day history), Pro (90-day), and Teams (365-day).

Use the Analytics Dashboard

Go to Analytics in your menu for a full overview: views over time, top-performing posts, follower growth, and audience device breakdown. Identify what is working and double down. Available on Pro and Teams.

Compare Profile Performance

If you manage multiple profiles, the Profile Performance view lets you compare metrics side by side. See which profiles are growing and which need more attention. Available on Pro and Teams.

Teams and Collaboration

Manage multiple brands or work with a team using shared workflows.

Manage Multiple Profiles

Go to Settings, then Profiles, to create additional profiles. Switch between them from the sidebar. Each profile has its own feed, followers, and content. Creator gets 2 profiles, Pro gets 5, Teams gets 30.

Set Up a Workspace

On Teams tier, go to Workspace to create a shared environment. Invite team members by email and assign roles: Admin (full access), Publisher (approves content), Editor (creates drafts), or Analyst (views metrics only).

Use the Approval Workflow

In a Workspace, content follows a structured path: Draft, Review, Approve or Reject, then Publish. Editors create content, Publishers review and approve, and Admins oversee everything. Leave review notes to keep the team aligned.

Settings and Privacy

Customise your experience and control who sees what.

Change Appearance

Go to Settings, then Appearance. Choose Dark, Light, or System theme. Adjust font size (Small, Medium, Large) and toggle Reduced Motion or High Contrast if you need them.

Hide from Discovery

In Privacy settings, toggle Hide from Discovery. Your posts will no longer appear on the Explore page or in trending feeds. Only your followers will see your content.

Control Tags and Mentions

In Privacy settings, enable Tag Approval and Mention Approval. When someone tags or mentions you, it will not appear on your profile until you approve it. You can also limit tags and mentions to followers only.

Require Repost Approval

In Privacy settings, toggle Repost Approval. When enabled, other users must request permission before reposting your content. You review and approve or deny each request.

Set Content Preferences

In Privacy settings, toggle filters to hide AI-generated content, paid partnerships, or sensitive material from your feed. You control exactly what appears in your experience.

Block, Mute, or Restrict Users

Visit any profile and tap the menu icon. Block a user to prevent all interaction. Mute them to hide their posts from your feed. Restrict them for limited interaction. Manage your lists in Settings under Privacy.

Configure Wellbeing Settings

In Settings, find Wellbeing. Set a doom-scroll timer and Deebop will gently remind you to take a break after your chosen duration. Designed to keep your time on the platform intentional.

Account Management

Billing, security, and data management.

Manage Your Subscription

Go to Settings, then Subscription. View your current tier, upgrade or downgrade your plan, and manage billing through the Stripe portal. See exactly which features are included at each level.

Change Your Password

Go to Settings, then Security. Enter your current password and set a new one. If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login page to reset it via email.
