Terms of Service

Last updated: February 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Deebop ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Deebop is an online content-sharing platform that allows users to share images, videos, 360-degree panoramas, short text posts ("Shouts"), audio posts, articles (long-form markdown content), collages (multi-image layouts), collections (curated feeds), and client galleries (photo proofing for photographers). The Service includes free and premium subscription tiers with varying features and limitations. The Service also includes content authenticity features such as technical metadata extraction, AI-generated content detection, and provenance verification.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Understand that higher subscription tiers may create multiple profiles linked to a single account (Identity), and you are responsible for all profiles under your account
  • Note that if you delete your account, there is a 30-day grace period during which your data is retained and your account can be recovered. After this period, your personal data will be permanently deleted

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Deebop. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content on the Service. This license includes the right to:

  • Display your content within the Deebop platform and mobile applications
  • Make your content available via embed codes on third-party websites, where you have enabled embedding (available on Creator, Pro, and Teams tiers)
  • Make your content accessible via token-based shared album links, which may be viewed without a Deebop account
  • Generate thumbnails, previews, and optimised versions of your content for display purposes
  • Extract, analyse, and store technical metadata embedded in your files (including EXIF, XMP, IPTC, and video/audio metadata) for content authenticity, moderation, and platform integrity purposes

You are solely responsible for your content and must ensure it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

Provenance labels: When uploading content, you must accurately declare whether it is original, AI-generated, AI-assisted, or a composite. Deliberately mislabelling content provenance is a violation of these terms and may result in content removal or account suspension.

Automated content analysis: By uploading content, you acknowledge that Deebop automatically extracts technical metadata from your files and scans for indicators of AI-generated content. If our automated systems detect AI-generation markers that conflict with your declared provenance label (for example, AI tool signatures in a post labelled as "original"), this may be flagged for review by platform moderators and may result in a request to correct your label, content removal, or account action for repeated mislabelling.

Metadata visibility: You can control whether technical metadata (such as camera settings and file details) is publicly visible on your posts via the "Show Technical Metadata" setting in your privacy preferences. Hiding metadata removes it from public view but does not delete it from our systems. Hidden metadata remains accessible to platform administrators for trust and safety, legal compliance, and content moderation purposes.

Location data in uploads: Images may contain GPS coordinates embedded by your camera or device. By uploading files containing location data, you acknowledge that this data will be extracted and stored. GPS coordinates are never displayed publicly but are accessible to administrators for moderation purposes. If you do not wish for location data to be captured, you are responsible for removing it from your files before uploading.

Content creation monitoring: Deebop records limited signals about how content is composed, including session timing and input method data for articles (proportion of text typed versus pasted). This data supports content authenticity verification and anti-abuse measures. We do not log individual keystrokes or clipboard contents.

5. Prohibited Content

You may not post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, or promotes violence
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains malware or malicious code
  • Is spam or deceptive in nature
  • Harasses or threatens others
  • Contains explicit content without proper labeling
  • Has been deliberately modified to strip, falsify, or manipulate embedded metadata in order to circumvent AI-generation detection or provenance verification

6. Subscription Services

Deebop offers Creator (£3.99/month), Pro (£9.99/month), and Teams (£24.99/month) subscription tiers with additional features. We also offer an Ad-Free add-on (£1.99/month) for Free tier users.

Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly on the date you first subscribed
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method automatically each billing cycle
  • If payment fails, we may retry the charge and/or suspend premium features until payment is received

Cancellation

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe billing portal
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • You retain access to premium features until the end of the paid period
  • After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free tier but your content remains accessible

Refunds

In accordance with UK consumer rights for digital content:

  • You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase to cancel and receive a refund
  • If you have used premium features during this period, the refund will be reduced based on days used (e.g., 7 days used = 50% refund of monthly price)
  • To request a refund within the cooling-off period, cancel your subscription through the billing portal in your account settings - any eligible refund will be processed automatically within 5-10 business days
  • After the 14-day period, refunds are provided at our discretion for service issues - please contact us to discuss

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase via email. The new price will apply from your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

Downgrading

If you downgrade to a lower tier or cancel your subscription, your existing content will remain on the platform. However, you may lose access to certain features (such as analytics, additional profiles, or the ability to upload certain content types). Content that exceeds Free tier limits will remain visible but you will not be able to upload new content of that type until you upgrade again.

7. Free Trials

Deebop may offer free trial periods for premium subscription tiers. The following terms apply to all free trials:

  • Free trials are 14 days in duration, non-transferable, and limited to one per account
  • Deebop reserves the right to modify, suspend, or withdraw trial eligibility at any time
  • There is no guarantee that premium features will remain available after the trial period ends
  • Misuse of the trial system, including creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials, may result in account restriction or termination
  • Content created during a trial period remains subject to all platform rules and these Terms of Service
  • Certain features may be restricted during trial periods to prevent abuse

At the end of a trial period, your account will automatically revert to the free tier unless you subscribe to a paid plan. Your content will remain accessible, but premium features will no longer be available.

8. Advertising & Boosts

Deebop may display advertisements in user feeds and other areas of the platform. The following terms apply to advertising and content boosting:

  • Users on the Free tier will see advertisements in their feed. The Ad-Free add-on (£1.99/month) removes these advertisements. Pro and Teams tier subscribers do not see advertisements
  • Users may boost their own posts for increased visibility by paying a fee via Stripe. Boosted posts are clearly labelled as "Boosted" in the feed
  • All boosted content must comply with our content policies and Prohibited Content rules (Section 5). We reserve the right to reject, pause, or remove any boosted content at our sole discretion
  • Fees paid for boosts are non-refundable once the boost has started delivering impressions
  • We do not guarantee any specific number of views or engagement for boosted content

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including accounts where automated systems repeatedly detect provenance mislabelling or other forms of content misrepresentation. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deebop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the Service.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable local law, including any mandatory consumer protection rights that cannot be waived by agreement.

14. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally. We aim to respond to all complaints within 14 days.

We do not require mandatory arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, either party may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales as set out in Section 13.

15. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us.
